All these notes are now obsolete. The Gold Reserve act of 1933 required the surrender of all gold certificates both small and large size. In 1964, the Secretary of Treasury removed all restrictions of the holding of gold certificates, making them legal to collect. Although there were nine emissions of god certificates, only the fourth, seventh, eighth and ninth were circulated to any extent. The ninth and last issue of Gold Certificates are the most frequently to see today. These notes were were issued between 1913 and 1922, and includes all denominations from $10 to $10,0000.
